Nature and Scope of Position:

• Prepare quality audit checklist based on the quality management

• Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and define the causes

Nature and Scope of Position: 

Conducts routine inspection of the all kind of Buildings, Roads, and Reservoirs, Sport Facilities and utilities services such as Irrigation Net Work, Portable Water Net Work, Sewage drainage network, surface water drainage network etc. and preparation of snags report to send to the Maintenance Contractor. 

Schedule and supervising the daily civil maintenance activities such as painting, Carpentry Work, Masonry and Concreting Work, Plumbing Work, Aluminium Work etc and ensure the procedures and materials comply with maintenance and project specifications, contract documents and/or work instructions.

04.SCAFFOLDING INSPECTOR – Salary = 2,800

Scaffolding Inspector 

Nature and Scope of Position: 

A scaffold Inspector’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

Erecting scaffolds in accordance with local, state, and federal. Erectors also must abide by all manufacturer recommendations and be capable of erecting scaffolds under the guidance of a 

competent person. Inspecting all scaffold components prior to assembly to insure that components used are of similar material and in good repair before becoming a part of the completed scaffold. This includes (but is not limited to): mudsills, screw jacks, frames, braces, planks, access ladders, brackets, etc. Maintaining fall protection requirements while erecting / dismantling scaffolds. Providing a scaffold to the user that is free from recognizable and preventable hazards (i.e. fall protection systems in place, falling object prevention in place, appropriate access / egress to and from the scaffold, appropriate anchorage and stability of the structure, appropriate walking 

working surfaces, maintaining appropriate clearances from electrical hazards, etc.) Prior to occupation scaffold erectors must notify the competent person that the scaffold has been erected and is ready to be inspected. Training of other scaffold users if needed. Contacting and coordinating with the Competent Person regarding any issues associated with the erection of a scaffold. Contacting EHS if there is a concern regarding the erection of the scaffold. 

Experience and Education: 

Diploma in any technical college is preferred Scaffolding Certificate by certified international or local Safety training centers At least three years’ experience in Scaffolding for Construction Projects and HS Knowledge of international or local legal safety legislation is an advantage. Knowledge of audit/inspection techniques and procedures. Experience associated with a construction project.

Ability to calculate the volume of materials required to scaffold a work location Ability to design scaffold structures for specific purposes and issue guidelines for their use. Fluent in writing, reading and speaking English language .

 

05.ELECTRICAL FOREMAN – Salary = 3,200

Nature and Scope of Position: 

Conducts routine inspection of all ELECTRICAL equipment in the buildings, sport facilities, chiller plants, sewage and drainage facilities, domestic and irrigation water facilities – to verify operation ability and maintenance plan implementation including preparation of snag reports for action of outsourced Operation & Maintenance Contractor and attending to Oracle System Work Requests (site inspection and evaluation)

Supervising the daily electrical maintenance activities on different electrical equipment like Transformers, DG sets, switch gears, MCC panels, UPS, Lifts and other electrical equipment to ensure the procedures and materials comply with maintenance and project specifications, contract documents and/or work instructions. 

Conducts routine readings of all kWhr meter registry as per direction of the Engineer and/or his authorized representative. 

Verifies implementation & compliance on site of the maintenance schedule and/or associated activities for various building and facilities (preventive, corrective, predictive and/or emergency) works and reports to the Engineer and/or his authorized representatives as a matter of standard operating procedure – for information, comments and proper dispositions. 

Supervises and ensures prompt and/or timely implementation of the approved preventive maintenance plan including monitoring of assigned manpower and availability of logistics. 

Supervises and ensures timely resolution of corrective maintenance requests / complaints from various clients related to electrical system (e.g. bulb replacements, tripped power supply & etc) 

Monitor the performance of the contractors, take corrective action where appropriate, 

Evaluates and inspects a specific work to be done upon the receipt of Work Request generated by the Oracle System, including also some letter requests and/or verbal directives / requests from various operating departments of Qatar University. Routinely reports to the Engineer or his authorized representative and/or directly to the QU assigned Oracle System Planner in order for him to dispose appropriately electrical issues.

OPERATION 

Supervises the daily operation of various MECHANICAL equipment like centrifugal chillers, screw chillers, package units, split units, window air conditioners, cooling towers, pumps, lift stations, motorized valves, air handling units, piping system, fan coil units, laboratory infrastructures and other mechanical equipment to ensure the proper and orderly operational status according to established original equipment manufacturer equipment nameplate and/or catalogues or manuals. 

Records, notes and reports to the Engineer or his authorized representative all noted equipment abnormalities and/or deviation in terms of operating parameters (e.g. pressure, temperature, vibrations, mechanical sound & other essentials) 

Maintains filing and ensures safekeeping of all operations reports documents for all buildings, services buildings & other essentials. Assist all specialists service contractors during conduct of respective works as directed by Engineer and/or his authorized representative. 

MAINTENANCE 

Supervises the implementation of planned preventive maintenance schedule of all building facilities and service buildings in terms of implementation of site, manpower deployment, materials availability. Reports to the Engineer and/or his authorized representative the actual observation, comments of the level of effectiveness of the current planned preventive maintenance program (PPM) especially for any deviation, constraints noncompliance, improvement schemes to optimize the PPM activities that is/are suitable/distinct/applicable to the area of work.

07.INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIANS – Salary = 2000

JD:

Nature and Scope of Position: 

Monitors and inspects all major components of the Qatar University buildings’ electrical infrastructure to ensure the systems are operating in accordance with regulated standards and criteria, meeting designed performance levels and providing acceptable continuous service. Carries out emergency repairs and makes alternative arrangements in response to mechanical and electrical failures, so as to minimize the impact on operations. Ensures proper completion of Work Orders and Work Requests following the QU Maintenance Management System. Prepares requisitions for materials and supplies. Conducts regular inspections, tests, checks and verifications on equipment condition and performance. Provides emergency repairs and alternatives in response to Electrical equipment failures so as to minimize interruption of service. Adjusts, calibrates, re-aligns and repairs equipment and installations to the required performance measures. Knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical power distribution systems, Transformers, switch gears, safety practices safety practices and procedures in the isolation of electrical systems, switching controls, lighting systems, power generation, fire and security alarms and detection systems. 

Knowledge of heating and air-conditioning systems Ability to interpret and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and Schematics. Skills and ability to use various electrical instruments and equipment for inspections and fault finding such as High Voltage cable insulation test cable locators, volt-ohm-amp meters, voltage testers and other electrical and electronic test equipment. Experience in supervising and providing direction and advice to electrical contractors. The incumbent also requires good oral and written communication skills to provide reports to management relating to observed occurrences or circumstances upon which operational decisions will be based. Ability to work without technical assistance. Performs diversified skilled work involving revision and installation of electronic and electrical circuits and equipment. Minimum of 4-5 years Operations & maintenance Experience in of LV Panels, MCCS, SMDBs/DBs, cable testing , external lighting, plant lighting etc. electromechanical equipment maintenance experience in a university or an Facility management organization.

 

08.CARPENTER – Salary = 1700

JD:

Nature and Scope of Position: 

Perform general finish and cabinet work in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of floors, roofs, walls, stairways, doors, windows and other structures 

Operate power saws, planers, jointers, hand tools, and other required machinery and equipment 

Sand surfaces and clean, sharpen, and repair hand and bench tools 

Perform window, door, and minor roof repairs 

Dismantle and/or construct interior building partitions (wooden). 

Fabricate, assemble, and re-fixing all furniture items such as tables, office desks, chairs, cabinets, stage..etc 

Prepare and install the necessary formwork for concreting. 

Perform finish carpentry work, i.e., mouldings, trim work, cabinets, etc.

Nature and Scope of Position: 

Perform manual fabrication of Aluminium windows & doors

Perform fabrication of curtain wall. 

To be aware of aluminium profiles and sections 

Inspect the aluminium and glass items that are installed by the outsource aluminium and glass companies. 

Fabrication and installation of Aluminium partitions. 

Keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports 

Perform fabrication of internal signage (at least one personnel is required)
